The fight against fog and splashes
Here is a weird thing about heat: water is its worst enemy. When a cold droplet hits a scorching hot quartz tube, it creates a “cold spot.” That sudden temperature swing puts a ton of stress on the glass. Do that enough times? The glass cracks. Plus, there’s the “fogging” issue. If condensation builds up on the reflector, your heat doesn’t throw far—it just lingers around the unit. A little trade-off
Now, there is a catch. When you seal something this tightly to keep the weather out, you lose some airflow. Because the internals are locked down, heat builds up inside the chassis faster than it would in a cheap, open-frame heater. Just make sure your mounting bracket gives the unit a little breathing room. A bit of natural air circulation keeps the internal wires from baking themselves.
