
Stop the Burn-outs on Your SIG Blomax Line
If you’re dealing with constant tube burn-outs on your SIG Blomax line, you already know the frustration. It usually comes down to two things: the lamps just can’t handle the constant vibration of the machine or the stress of heating up and cooling down over and over. It’s a pain. It stops production. And it’s usually avoidable. That’s why we built a reinforced version of the Amsler-compatible lamps. We wanted something that actually stays lit so you can stop worrying about unplanned downtime. The nuts and bolts These aren’t some weird modification. They’re designed to fit the exact footprint of the original Amsler units. We used high-wattage quartz elements that push out short-wave infrared heat. The goal? Get the heat into the PET preform fast without baking your oven chassis. And the best part? You don’t have to touch your control panels or mess around with the lamp holders. You just pop them in and get back to work. Why they actually last Most standard lamps give up the ghost at the pinch seal or where the connector hits. We beefed up the quartz envelope to take the mechanical beating that happens inside a blow molder. We also used a heavier-duty filament support. This means the tungsten is less likely to snap when you’re cycling the power on and off. Then there are the connectors. We’ve all seen those loose fits that cause arcing—which basically fries the ends of the lamp. Our replacements snap in tight. No arcing, no localized overheating, no headaches. A quick reality check from the shop floor Now, look. Reinforcing the lamp helps a ton, but it doesn’t make your oven magic. If your reflectors are pitted or covered in PET gunk, the heat has nowhere to go. It bounces straight back into the lamp. We call it “heat soak,” and it’ll kill even the toughest quartz tube eventually. Keep those reflectors clean. If you stick to your maintenance schedule, these lamps will outlast the OEM parts every single time.
